About the Artist

My name is Clotilde, I’m a French painter. I started drawing and painting when I was very young. My parents enrolled me in an art school early on. As a kid, I was deeply moved by the great painters I discovered in museums, Frida Kahlo, Picasso, Otto Dix… The colors they used, the movements, the stories behind their paintings. All of it fascinated me.

I traveled a lot, and those journeys gave me a new perspective on the world and on myself. Both as a person and as an artist.

Inspiration & Process

My travels became a huge source of inspiration: India, Cambodia, Mexico, Guatemala, Brazil… All of these places had something in common with my vision: Bold colors, drawn shapes, striking contrasts, the promise of celebration on a canvas.

People began to commission me to paint portraits for their loved ones, their families, their partners, their friends. What I love most is being able to represent these people through my eyes and my style... My greatest reward is seeing their faces light up when they discover the painting.

I love taking my time to put exactly what I want into a painting. I always paint with music: Jazz, electronic sounds, and rhythms from South America. I paint the world, and the world inspires me.
